Students across the school can choose to be a member of the E-safety committee. The group meets once a term to look at E-safety across the school. The students are joined in this committee by the ICT Co-ordinator, a Teaching Assistant, ICT Technician and the Chair of Governors.
The aim of the group is to ensure that everyone uses all the electronic devices in school and out of school safely.
In September 2016 we were very pleased to be awarded the E-Safety Mark in recognition of all of the work we do in order to keep our student’s safe online.
Members discuss issues and areas of concern and then decide what changes need to occur. The e-safety committee students lead a whole school assembly in January when students receive new electronic devices to ensure all use their gadgets safely.
Hednesford Valley High School have signed up to a fantastic new programme called E-Cadets. this programme will enhance the E-Safety work already delivered in school.
E-Cadets (members of the e-safety committee) will be trained on how to deliver the course to their peers. The E-Cadets will deliver sessions in PSHE and computing lessons on how to stay safe online. Students will receive recognition for their work and achievements from the E-Cadet organisation.
