Post 16 Transport

Suitable transport will continue to Hednesford Valley High School if the students learning difficulty or disability means that they are unable to use public transport or walk to school.

Students who meet all the eligiblity requirements including the low income criteria, will be required to pay £494 towards their travel costs for the academic year 2016-17. The payment is a contribution towards the cost of post 16 transport and is not based upon the distance travelled or number of days travelling per week.

The definition of low income students for those in Years 12, 13 or 14 is those where the parent/carer is in receipt of income support, income based job seekers allowance, income based employment and support allowance, child tax credit but not working tax credit with a household income of less than £16,190.00.

Application forms can be downloaded from: http://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/education/schoolsandcolleges/Schooltransport/Post16/home.aspx

Students can apply for a Your Staffordshire Card.  This allows travel at £1.30 per journey on any public bus that starts or ends in Staffordshire.  It is available to all Staffordshire students aged between 11 and 20 years.
