Art & Design Class Teacher

TO START 1ST SEPTEMBER 2020 - Permanent Contract - FULL TIME, - MS1-UPS3  (£24,373-£40,490) + 1 SEN Point (£2,170)

This is an exciting opportunity for an Art teacher who has experience of teaching GCSE Art to join a good generic special school.  Art is a very popular subject across the school.

This post is suitable for either an NQT or an experienced teacher.  All staff receive high quality CPD.

We are looking for a talented, creative and ambitious teacher who:

  • Is an organised and highly effective classroom practitioner.
  • Has a passionate commitment to raising the attainment of all students in a special school.
  • Is committed to enriching our curriculum through involvement in community events.
  • Can teach Art to GCSE/BTEC and willing to work flexibly across all disciplines within the art and design      Curriculum.
  • Is able to teacher Enterprise, PSHE and other subjects across the curriculum as required by the timetable.
  • A team player who is able to work collaboratively with others on whole school projects.
  • To work with a range of different students with SEN across the school.

Part-time Music Teacher required to cover Maternity Leave 

To start 01/09/2020 Temporary Contract- 1 Day per week (Tuesday) for approximately 12 months - MS1-US3 (£24,373-£40,490) +1 SEN (£2,170) pro-rota

An exciting opportunity for an outstanding Music practitioner to join the team at Hednesford Valley High has occurred to cover maternity leave from 01/09/2020.

We are looking for a talented, creative and ambitious practitioner who: 

  • can teach Music to Year 7 & 8 students with severe learning difficulties and moderate learning difficulties     combined with ASD or Speech and Language.
  • is an organised and highly effective classroom practitioner.
  • has a passionate commitment to raising the attainment of all students in a special school.
  • will run an after-school Music Club
  • a team player who is able to work collaboratively with others.
  • to work with a range of different students with SEN across the school.

Cover Supervisor 

To start as soon as possible - Permanent Contract - 32.5 hours.

Salary Grade 5 - £19,171-20,344

Mon -  8:30 -  16:20

Tues - Friday  8:30 – 15:20

 

This is an exciting new opportunity for a Cover Supervisor to join the team at Hednesford Valley High School.

This role involves supervising whole classes during teacher or support staff absences including implementing work, managing student behavior and assisting students in relevant activities.  You will provide feedback to students in relation to their progress and achievement.  You will be attached to a tutor group and will assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans.

We require a flexible and creative individual. Who:-

  • Has very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
  • Has NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or recognized equivalent qualification.
  • Has excellent communication skills with students, parents/carers and professionals.
  • Can use ICT to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Can act as Cover Supervisor during the absence of teaching staff.
  • This person will be involved in supporting students with their personal care.
  • Has a passionate commitment to raising the attainment of all students in a special school.
  • A team player who is able to work collaboratively with others.
  • This role can change to work across the school/sites with other student groups if required.

Inclusion Assistant (2 Positions) 

To start a.s.a.p. - Permanent Contract - 37 hours per week. Term Time Only. Actual Salary: Grade 5 - £16,573-£17,587

Hours of work – Mon, Tues +Thurs 08:30-16:30 – Wed 08:30-17:00 - Friday 08:30-15:30. To start a.s.a.p.

This is an exciting new opportunity for 2 x Inclusion Assistants to join the team at Hednesford Valley High.

  • One role involves working with students in the classroom on both sites and on a 1:1 or small group basis with students who are unable to access the curriculum in school.  You will initially work across the school to gain knowledge and experience of our students and the curriculum.  For some of your time you will work in the new Learning Resource Centre/Meeting Room 1 delivering aspects of the curriculum and providing pastoral support for students, as well as supporting across the school.
  • The second role involves working in the Emotional Support Unit to provide support for students across the school and on both sites.  You will be responsible for organising and running 1:1 and small group interventions for students who require additional pastoral and emotional support.  You will be based in the Life Skills Centre and Emotional Support Unit and working under the guidance of the Every Child Matters Coordinator.

At the end of the school day you will have time to complete marking, preparation of resources and reports of students progress or supporting in after school clubs.

We require a flexible and creative individual who:-

  • Has very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.
  • Has NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or recognized equivalent qualification.
  • Has excellent communication skills with students, parents/carers and professions.
  • Can use ICT to support and enhance teaching and learning.
  • Can act as Cover Supervisor during the absence of teaching staff.
  • This person may be involved in personal care.
  • Has a passionate commitment to raising the attainment of all students in a special school.
  • Has own transport and business insurance to enable travel between both sites.

This is an exciting new opportunity for 2 x Curriculum Area Learning Supervisors to join the team at Hednesford Valley High School.

  • One role involves working alongside the teacher in the Study Group to support the delivery of the curriculum and to produce resources for the students before and after school hours.
  • The second role involves working in a curriculum area alongside the subject teacher to support the delivery of the curriculum and to run a club at lunchtime and work in clubs after school and support resources in the department.

We require a flexible and creative individual. Who:-

  • Has very good numeracy/literacy skills equivalent to GCSE C and above.

Hednesford Valley High is a good generic secondary special school with a split site provision.  Students in Year 7-11 are based at the Hednesford Valley High, Stanley Road Site, and students in Years 12-14 are based in E block at Cannock Chase High.  The school caters for a wide range of students, many with more than one area of SEN.  All staff are totally committed to providing excellent teaching and learning to empower students to become independent citizens of the world.
